EvoSwitch to expand Netherlands data centre

EvoSwitch, the Dutch-based carrier neutral Data Centre provider has revealed that since opening its facility at Haarlem in April 2007 it has filled up one-third of the capacity (2,000 square metres) initially fitted out.

The company has now decided to fit out another 2,000 square metres of space which will be available for use by the middle of 2008. As part of the expansion another two new 2.5 MVA transformers will be added together with another two UPS’ each with a capacity of 2 MVA. Another 8 emergency power generators will also be supplied.

EvoSwitch has seen stronger than expected sales growth with demand from customers in the UK, Germany, the US and Cyprus. The latest build out will cost €7 million to complete. The company has said it has enough space to expand up until 9,000 square metres and an energy capacity of 20 Megawatts.
